Fished the Ruby on July 16th and 19th from the dam about a half mile downstream.  The river is fishing good with size 16 – 18 prince and pheasant tail nymphs paired with soft hackle flies….the red ass seemed to work best.  The river is high but very fishable; water clarity is good.  Fish are good size averaging 16 inches with a pretty even mix of rainbows and browns.  We seemed to catch most of the fish in the soft water at the edges of the choppy stuff where the depth was about 4 feet.  No dry fly action for us but I suspect that further downstream late in the day that they will take dries.
