The Beaverhead continues to fish great as we grind further into August. Moss has started encompass the river bed and Tricos have started to pop in good numbers as the fish are starting to key in on smaller patters and cut back on the PMD’s, Sally’s, and other large Mayfly nymphs. They are still taking split backs, half backs, hunchbacks, and pt’s, but are starting to eat smaller emergers, zebra midges, small pt’s, and an assortment of BWO nymphs as the Tricos start to encompas the system. Flows on the river have been great all year, and we are expecting the Beav to fish very well for the remainder of the season.
