Justin + Sarah Hartman with their team at Tight Line Adventures and Brian Johansson of Montana Candleworks are proud to announce the newly renamed ATLANTIC STREET MERCANTILE!
Formerly known as the Old Bullpen Plaza, “The Merc” at 435 S. Atlantic Street in the heart of Dillon, Montana still currently features Brian’s exceptional cafe, espresso, ice cream, and gift shop. THE NEW full-service Tight Line Adventures Fly Shop will hold its GRAND OPENING MAY 20, 2017. More information on that below.
Watch for the new signage going up at The Atlantic Street Mercantile next week!
When Brian approached Justin this winter about renting a retail space in his building, Justin was excited about the potential. “We bring our family to Brian’s place for hot dogs and ice cream all the time. It just seemed natural to have our recreational gear here, too, where fishermen can grab a hot cup of coffee, a breakfast sandwich, and all they need for a day on the river,” says Hartman.
Tight Line Adventures recently hired Kami Tash + Rachael Thompson to manage operations at their Vacation Rentals Expedition Lodge and Gatehouse. What they didn’t know was all they’d be taking on at the fly shop as well. Their willingness to adapt as members of the TLA Family has been evident from day one and we are so grateful to have them on board!
Construction at the Merc Fly Shop began last month. Justin, Rachael, Kami, and Cory have been very busy!
Rachael + Kami directed the design of the project, choosing colors and painting the walls. They also chose the floors + lighting, even installing the flooring themselves! Cory’s carpentry skills are priceless. He framed in openings to make solid walls and Brian let him knock a hole in the front of the building to create our Fly Shop entrance. (That is Cory’s ever-patient wife, Niki, and TLA newbie guide, Luke Billings, supervising. Seriously though, they are a huge help.)
As if that wasn’t enough excitement for Cory, he and Justin opted to removed the drop ceiling and the end result is stunning! Cory installed a refinished door we salvaged from an area barn and used pine tongue + groove on the walls.
The Tight Line Adventures Fly Shop at the Merc will specialize in shuttles, up-to-date fishing reports, the latest fly selections, and gear from Scott Rods, Bauer Reels, Simms, and Yeti to have you ready to hit the waters of Southwest Montana.
