Our History

Tight Line Adventures is owned and operated by Justin and Sarah Hartman in Dillon, Montana. TLA was started in the fall of 2008 after many seasons spent on the waters in Southwest Montana in search of trout. Our goal is to share with you why we love Montana so much and to provide you with a fly fishing experience you will not soon forget.

Justin graduated from the University of Montana Western in Dillon with a degree is Business Administration. He obtained a football scholarship to play for the University of Montana and spent two years as a member and player for the Grizzlies. After two seasons he transferred to Western and continued to play football as well as basketball. When not on the river Justin enjoys chasing anything with fur or feathers, tying flies out of those fur and feathers, and playing with his children.

Sarah graduated from the University of Montana in Missoula with majors in Management and Marketing and a minor in Communication Studies. Out of college she went to work for Bramlette and Company Realtors in Dillon, Montana as the Office Manager. After 5 years helping Bramlette become Dillon’s number one real estate office, Sarah switched gears and has been using her talents to help Tight Line Adventures ever since. Along with being a full-time stay-at-home M.O.M., Sarah loves helping guests enjoy Montana and provides meaningful insight, ideas, and creativity to TLA.

Justin and Sarah have two small children – a son, Cohen and a daughter, Landri – as well as an energetic black lab, Harper.
